end

end keyword

Description

Used at end of loops or conditionals. for, while, if, select must be terminated by end.

Examples

a=42
if a==42 then
   disp("the answer to all questions")
end

i = 0
while i<5
   disp("i");
   i = i + 1;
end

n=5;
for i = 1:n
    for j = 1:n
        a(i,j) = 1/(i+j-1);
    end
end

  • end can no longer be followed by an inline instruction without , or ; separator (as in if %t, a=1; end b=2).
  • end can now close a function block instead of endfunction (that still should be prefered).
  • end is now protected: Assignments like end=1 are no longer possible.
